The Health Systems Training Institute and National Institute Community Development and Management join forces in new training endeavour
The Health Systems Trust's (HST's) training arm, the Health Systems Training Institute (HSTi) has signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the National Institute Community Development and Management (NICDAM) to collaborate on areas of interest such as Gender-based Violence, behaviour change, social development and dreaded diseases, to enhance the product and service offerings either may not historically have focused on. To this end they will be working on ways to better serve healthcare practitioners and others with updated as well as new trainings. The Health Systems Trust Training Institute (HSTi) is the training arm of the Health Systems Trust (HST). The Health Systems Trust is accredited by the Health and Welfare Sector Education and Training Authority (HWSETA). HSTi is the vehicle that provides the training and development support for the programmes delivered by HST. HSTi is now expanding its capacity-building and training offerings to all role-players within the health systems in Southern Africa. HSTi offers innovative, tailored and application-driven clinical and non-clinical training solutions aimed at strengthening health systems at all levels and improving the quality of primary health care. HSTi's client base straddles the entire health system. Our clients include multi-national donor organisations, health departments at national, provincial and district levels, NGO's and CBO's, statutory bodies, trade unions, employer associations, clinics and hospitals.
ABOUT THE NATIONAL INSTITUTE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT NICDAM
Since inception as an Educational and Development Trust in 1999, the National Institute Community Development (NICDAM) has grown to become a major player in training, community health, social development, organisational development and social research in South Africa. Twenty-six thousand (26 000) training participants have successfully completed short courses, SAQA accredited skills programmes or qualifications through NICDAM. NICDAM has managed numerous projects of various extents on behalf of government departments and institutions, international and local funders in all the provinces of the country.
